After the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, the "greenhouse effect" is now a topic of great concern and very much in the public eye. To maintain momentum for this groundbreaking initiative, an event is scheduled to take place in Rio, 6th to 11th of January, 2002. The objectives are to analyse current developments of research, demonstrate latest technology and discuss appropriate measures for implementation.

Renewable energies for CO2 reduction and sustainable development

Moving from science & politics towards widespread applications

The main focus of the event is the application of renewable energies, reduced energy consumption and sustainable development in order to decrease overall carbon dioxide emissions. The guest speakers participating in the conference represent academic research, the industry sectors and policies associated with these topics. The implementation and application aspect will be highlighted and demonstrated by an exhibition and workshops.
We would like to invite everyone to participate in this event, so that together we can find strategies to combat a major environmental challenge which affects us all.
