We have the means to protect the global climate. And the Rio 02 conference will show us how to make it a reality. Ten years after the 1992 UNCED Summit in Rio de Janeiro where 179 nations commonly accepted the concept of sustainable development, there is a world-wide consensus for the use of renewable energies. And the technical know-how is available. Rio 02 will show the way forward.

In January 2002 the Rio 02 conference will bring together international climate and energy specialists to couple the current state of environmental research with the latest developments in renewable energy strategies i.e. a meeting of experts in the same tropical location as the legendary Earth Summit, focusing on the mass application of sustainable energy technology.

Rio 02 wants to give the "Spirit of Rio" new impetus, particularly through the events accompanying the conference: workshops, campaigns, projects, excursions, a solar powered rock concert and an exhibition presenting state-of-the-art of renewable energy technology.

Rio 02, situated in the most beautiful and famous beach hotel of the city, offers a wide

Exhibition space is available in different sizes, the smallest unit starting at 4 m� (see reservation form). All conference and exhibition facilities have excellent air-conditioning.

In order to ease the preparation of your participation we have developed a Full Service Package. It incorporates exhibition space featuring a fully equipped stand at a rental fee of EUR 265 per square meter (excluding VAT 16%).

This package includes:
- Floor space
- Fascia with company name
- Electrical power point (110V, 60Hz)
- Daily cleaning service

Additionally included for each unit of 4 m²:
- 2 chairs
- 1 table
- lamps/ spotlight
- wastepaper bin

For a reasonable fee, a wide range of items can be added: pieces of furniture, spotlights, additional electric power, telephone, telefax, etc. Audio-visual equipment (overhead and slide projectors, video recorders, etc.) can also be rented.

Should you wish to bring your own stand system there is a reduced rate at EUR 200 per square meter (excluding VAT 16%). This reduced rate includes exhibition space, carpeting and electrical power connection (110V, 60Hz).

By booking exhibition space at this event (full service package or space only) you will get access to the conference including full conference documentation:

- 4 m² - 8 m²: full conference registration for one person
- 8 m² - 16 m²: full conference registration for two persons
- more than 16 m²: full conference registration for three persons

Your company / organization has the possibility to present itself free of charge in the Catalogue of Exhibitors which will be distributed to all delegates at the conference and through extensive mailing to alternative Energy targets all over the world. In addition, the press will be guided through the exhibition and an Exhibitors' Reception will be held on one evening of the event. This reception will take place in the exhibition area and will present an excellent opportunity for all exhibitors to introduce and present themselves to all conference delegates.

The Conference Industry Committee is designing innovative features: During the event the press conferences will promote exhibition highlights.
